A Gorgon’s Tale
This original puppet spectacle by North Barn Theatre Collective tells the story of a mythical being who brings new growth and change to a world in ruin. Told through the tentacles of a misunderstood Gorgon, this imaginative journey sheds light on the anti- hero and brings hope to a seemingly shadowy future. Inspired by the writing of Donna Haraway this outdoor theatrical experience will appeal to the senses of all ages.

Troubling Joy
a bicycle puppet circus
This original theatre performance was toured by bicycle and performed for rural and urban audiences around Nova Scotia in August and September, 2021. Troubling Joy is a circus with a cast of more-than-human puppets who, in recognizing their discontent with the social structures that dictate how they live, discover the pleasure of change.
Late Night Radio
Experienced much like a drive-in cinema, Late Night Radio is a socially distant, live theatre performance where audiences tune in their car radios to an FM broadcast as a spectacle emerges in the landscape before them.
Dancing in the interplay between dusk and night, hope and grief, it contemplates the consequences of a pandemic, our interrelatedness to the non-human world and our collective stumbling into the unknown, both together and apart.
Performed in the rural communities of Ohio, NS, New Glasgow, PEI, Antigonish, NS and Canning, NS in the summer and fall of 2020.
Gathering
This crankie was created by The North Barn Theatre Collective in April 2020 in the aftermath of the mass shooting in Nova Scotia. Gathering was prohibited yet we felt the need to come together and hold each other. It was performed outdoors as an offering for individual households.
